SOFETI

Sepik Organic Farming and Eco-tourism Innovative

SOFETI is a project  set-up to promote organic farming and eco-tourism in the Sepik River region, with the initial goal being to install running water to Ambunti and its surrounding villages.

SOFETI aims to build on the expertise and knowledge of self-sufficient living that the people have, by assisting them in infrastructure and the development of organic-farming and eco-tourism in the region.

SOFETI Running water project

The project will provide running water to at least 25 villages and 7000 people in and around Ambunti.

Starting from a waterfall, the water will be directed into a large header tank (Tank 1)

With the use of coiled PVC/HDPE pipe, the water will be gravity fed to a further 3 tanks (Tank 2, Tank 3, Tank 4)

The 3rd and final tank will be approximately 12km from the original water source, the pipe will then continue for another 7km and terminate in Malu village

Between each tank the water will be distributed to taps, with the aim to have 1 tap for every 5 buildings
